Hawksworth Restaurant Group is seeking a skilled Sommelier to join our wine team. Our restaurants, Hawksworth and Nightingale, offer a unique dining experience with a focus on quality, excellence, and fun.
About the RoleWe are looking for a wine professional with expert knowledge of grape varieties, regions, harvest times, climates, history, vineyards, and soils. The ideal candidate will have a sommelier certification and be able to answer a wide range of questions from patrons and peers.
Responsibilities- Update knowledge of current trends and deepen understanding of the winemaking process
- Attend formal wine tastings, trade fairs, and tasting groups to develop palate
- Provide exceptional service and answer questions from patrons and peers
- Work collaboratively with the wine team to create a unique wine experience
- Previous experience in a similar restaurant setting
- Sommelier certification (or working towards the final level)
- Quick reaction times with accuracy and integrity
- Fantastic communication skills
