Under the supervision of the Manager, Health Services, the Registered Nurse will provide professional nursing services, including independent nursing, administration of medical treatments, and leadership within the healthcare team. The nurse will also facilitate patient care and discharge, demonstrating a commitment to the vision, values, and goals of the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority and Concordia.

Responsibilities
  • Provide professional nursing services to patients with complex health needs
  • Administer prescribed medical treatments and medications
  • Lead the healthcare team and facilitate patient care and discharge
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care
Requirements
  • Graduate of an approved Registered Nursing education program
  • Minimum 1 year current experience in long-term care
  • Certificate in Gerontology preferred
  • Appropriate C.N.A. Certification (or equivalent)
  • Registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (CRNM)
Skills and Qualifications
  • Knowledge of College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba Standards of Practice for Registered Nurses
  • Canadian Nurses Association Code of Ethics for Registered Nurses
  • Scope of practice as documented in the Regulated Health Professions Act (RHPA)
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to prioritize care for individual patients or groups
  • Ability to respond to simultaneous demands
Physical Requirements
  • Moderate to heavy physical effort required

This term position may end earlier as outlined in your collective agreement. A current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check, and Adult Abuse Registry Check are required as conditions of employment.
