Brock's Lead Safety Officer is a critical role that requires a strong background in safety leadership and a proven track record of promoting a safety culture. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of direct field experience in their related field and hold their NCSO Certification.
Responsibilities:- Promote and instill a safety culture in all aspects of the business
- Conduct daily inspections and observations of work areas and liaise with supervisors and crew on health, safety, and environment matters
- Review and provide feedback on hazard assessment and risk assessment documents
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and programs
- Provide support and direction to field crews on the use of the Health and Safety Manual
- Attend job and safety equipment demonstrations
- Coordinate and participate in testing of the overall Emergency Plan
- Coordinate and prepare orientation sessions
- Report daily to the Safety Manager on safety issues and concerns
- Provide topics and evaluate Tool Box and Weekly Safety meetings
- Track and maintain site incident trends and statistics
- Complete and submit incident investigations and reports
- Oversee HSE requirements of the project
- Set direction, communicate safety mission, and manage the process while inspiring and leading people toward achieving and exceeding safety goals
- Participate in administering company policies
- Promote HSE awareness and responsibility through safety meetings, communications, and training programs
- Monitor, evaluate, and take action on sub-standard conditions and work practices
- Establish and maintain electronic record keeping for site-specific training activities
- Present information and train current operations and personnel on company-related safety procedures
- Assist with injury case management
- Conduct scheduled safety meetings
- Assist with periodic audits of potentially hazardous work areas, practices, procedures, and process operations
- Implement Job Hazard Analysis and Safety Incentive Programs
- Interact with field/site management
- Maintain the worker information bulletin board
- Monitor field compliance with company procedures
This is a contract position.
