About the Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Registered Practical Nurse to join our team at Parkland on the Glen in Mississauga, Ontario. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care to our residents, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social needs are met.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform initial and ongoing assessments of residents' needs and develop, revise, and implement care plans
  • Order, administer, and store medications and treatments in compliance with facility policies and standards
  • Adhere to legislation and enforce compliance mandates under the direction of the Director of Care
  • Manage the department in the absence of the Supervisor or Manager, including staffing, equipment, and supply ordering
  • Direct, assign, and evaluate the work of personal support attendants
  • Assist in the orientation of residents, family, and nursing staff
  • Document and investigate resident/staff incidents and complaints, and follow up with the Supervisor or Manager promptly
Requirements:
  • Diploma in Practical Nursing and current registration as a Registered Practical Nurse with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Passion for working with seniors and experience in a seniors' living or long-term care environment
  • Comprehensive knowledge of nursing and healthcare practices, excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Availability to work a flexible schedule, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Current CPR and Emergency First Aid Certification, and a Clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening
