About the Role

The Maintenance Technician is a part-time position responsible for maintaining the physical integrity of a property, including grounds, and providing exceptional customer service to residents. This role requires a strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including cleaning and repairs, to ensure the property is in good working order.
  • Ensure the grounds are well-maintained, including landscaping, mowing, and snow removal.
  • Provide excellent customer service to residents, responding to their needs and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Conduct daily visual inspections of mechanical, HVAC, and sprinkler systems to identify potential issues.
  • Supervise service providers and contractors to ensure quality work is performed.
  • Participate in special projects and other duties as assigned.
Customer Service Responsibilities
  • Respond to resident issues and service requests within 24 hours.
  • Promote a neighborly and community atmosphere.
  • Meet and interact with residents in a customer-friendly and professional manner.
  • Seek ways to exceed service expectations of residents.
Fire Safety-Life Safety-Emergency Situation Responsibilities
  • Comply with regular fire safety and life safety standards.
  • Ensure staff has thorough understanding of emergency procedures.
Cleaning Responsibilities
  • Manage, maintain, and schedule staff to ensure the complex and grounds are kept clean daily.
  • Perform exterior duties, including snow and ice removal, salting of entrances, and maintenance of snow removal log books.
  • Perform interior duties, including vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping of common areas.
  • Conduct thorough cleaning of vacant units, including appliances, floors, walls, windows, kitchen, washrooms, and balconies.
Skills and Experience Required
  • Background in residential property management or related business experience.
  • Strong customer service and selling skills.
  • Excellent communication skills to deal with residents, prospects, colleagues, and trades.
  • Management skills to coach, train, and motivate staff and develop a team environment.
  • Maintain a professional and presentable appearance at all times.
  • Basic computer and keyboarding skills.
  • Ability to perform minor repairs and aptitude for mechanical systems.
  • Demonstrated cleaning skills.
