Cardiac Services Registered Nurse

Fraser Health is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our Cardiac Services team. As a key member of our interprofessional care team, you will provide direct patient care by assessing, planning, providing, and evaluating nursing care to patients in an acute medical unit.
Responsibilities- Conduct thorough patient assessments, collecting information from various sources, and making nursing diagnoses to determine the best course of care.
- Collaborate with patients and their families/caregivers to develop and implement individualized care plans, promoting patient autonomy and dignity.
- Participate in the care and discharge planning process, ensuring comprehensive care planning and delivery, and communicating effectively with the interprofessional care team.
- Coordinate nursing care, prioritizing tasks, delegating to support staff, and making referrals to the interprofessional care team as needed.
- Teach patients and families/caregivers about illness prevention, health restoration, and health maintenance to support their health care goals.
- Document assessments, nursing diagnoses, interventions, patient/family responses, outcomes/evaluations, and referrals according to practice standards and Fraser Health procedures.
Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM). Completion of Cardiology component of Post Basic Critical Care course, or post basic High Acuity Course, approved Arrhythmia interpretation course plus one (1) year's recent experience in cardiac monitoring or telemetry unit, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Current Basic Rescuer Certificate.
