Global Cost Accountant
Position Summary:
Responsible for managing project costs to ensure on-time and on-budget completion, while maintaining gross margins. Focus on achieving cost reduction goals for both new and existing products, adding value to manufacturing and engineering teams through cost accounting skills. Collaborate with plant accounting team on financial activities. Responsible for maintaining standard product costing, including shop floor and OH rates.
Performance Expectations:
- Collaborate with New Product Development team from an accounting perspective.
- Ensure new product projects meet deadlines, budget, and gross margin targets.
- Dedicated to achieving cost reduction targets on new and existing products.
- Analyze and compare costs of new vs. existing products, and conduct sensitivity analysis.
- Work closely with Engineering, purchasing, and new product development teams.
- Maintain Bill of Materials (BOM'S) for New Products.
- Assist in expense budget preparation for new product development team.
- Investigate and explain budget deviations.
- Maintain cost centers and expense codes for departmental cost understanding.
- Collaborate with plant accounting team on financial activities.
- Prepare capital expenditure submissions to Corporate Head Office.
- Conduct Return on Investment (ROI) analysis.
- Manage SRED.
- Additional assigned duties.
Credentials:
- Four years accounting experience.
- Accounting, Business, or related degree/diploma required.
- Enrollment or willingness to enroll in the CPA program.
- Ability to interpret financial graphs, create tables, and manage financial data.
- Proficiency in IFS, Hyperion, and advanced MS Excel desirable.
- Evaluate financial data accuracy and assess risks.
- Present financial information effectively.
- Collaborate with colleagues on accounting tasks.
- Maintain knowledge of Acts and Regulations.
