Job Summary:

IPC Canada Ltd. is seeking a Senior Development Engineer to join the Brooks Asset team. The successful candidate will be responsible for optimizing reservoirs, wells, facilities and infrastructure along with developing and progressing long term plans for subsurface and surface developments.


Accountabilities:

In this position, you will be responsible for the reservoir evaluation, development planning and exploitation of mature heavy oil water flood pools and evaluate new oil development potential.


  • Evaluate drilling potential, assemble cost estimates and perform project economic evaluations;
  • Evaluate well and field optimization potential;
  • Provide reservoir engineering expertise to evaluate, design and execute field development plans and optimize water injection;
  • Integrate future development considerations into field development plans and the evaluation of potential new areas;
  • Determine asset value, forecast production and operating costs and provide reserve evaluations;
  • Track and manage capital spending;
  • Maintain reservoir regulatory compliance.

Qualifications:

  • APEGA designation with 10 years Development, Reservoir or Exploitation Engineering experience in the Western Canada Sedimentary Basin;
  • Understanding of other disciplines (drilling, completions, facilities and production) and key roles involved in the development process (land, geology, geophysics);
  • Expertise in economic evaluations and reserves estimation;
  • Demonstrated proficiency with industry engineering software and resources, including Value Navigator;
  • Ability to think critically about project risks and highlight key technical factors likely to lead to success or failure;
  • Strong understanding of reserve reports;
  • Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team to achieve results and maximize value to the organization;
  • Excellent written, verbal communication and presentation skills;
  • Sound judgement, analytical ability and good business skills.
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
