Overview

The Dispatcher role is a critical and important member of our Transportation department and we are looking for a dedicated and driven team member to contribute to our team.

Responsibilities

  • Helps coordinate the transportation department operations by coordinating local Drive-away team and completing all relevant paperwork to ensure the smooth transition of pickup and delivery

  • Schedule daily staff for all local runs in and efficient manner

  • Investigate and provide incident reports for any Safety Incidents

  • Assists with staffing which includes, hiring, training, health and safety, compliance and knowledge of all road laws and regulations

  • Ensure all company vehicles are in safe operating condition by scheduling regular maintenance and performing weekly checks

  • Provides office assistance and support to all logistical needs in the department including US dispatching

  • Other duties as assigned

Educational/Experience Requirements

  • 2-3 years related direct dispatching and supervisory experience required

  • Valid driver's license and have own transportation as the work location is not on any bus routes

  • Must possess excellent customer service skills

  • Team player with excellent communication skills

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-moving environment

  • High proficiency in in all types of computer software such as Google office, Microsoft office, etc

  • Experience using Transport software considered an asset

  • A self-starter who can assess work volumes and ensure timely completion of these prioritized tasks

  • Must have a positive attitude

  • Able to work independently in a face paced environment

  • Proficient at multitasking and problems solving and have clear experience and examples of these skills
