LOCATION: Remote / Corporate Office in Richmond Hill (Hybrid)

THE OPPORTUNITY

The Manager of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) will report into the Director of Corporate Financial Planning & Analysis. The successful candidate will maintain a robust hands-on approach to financial management, actively engaging in all aspects of the financial forecasting process. They will foster a culture of continuous improvement, consistently seeking and implementing innovative strategies to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and strategic insight within the financial planning and analysis function. This individual will join a team of our most trusted finance professionals, who will work together to execute the financial and business strategies for the firm.

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Contribute to the preparation of accurate and insightful financial forecasts, variance analyses, and performance reports to provide actionable insights to senior management.
  2. Create and maintain financial models to evaluate different scenarios, assess the impact of business e into well-tailored variance commentary.
  3. Assist in the requirements gathering, product selection, and implementation of a new budgeting and planning software solution to optimize financial operations.
  4. Support improvements in financial processes, systems, and reporting capabilities to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  5. Present financial information, analyses, and recommendations to finance leadership in a clear and concise manner.
  6. Escalate financial issues, breaches of cash balance targets and KPIs that exceed expectations.
  7. Create ad hoc analysis as required by evolving business needs.
  8. Maintain the post-investment review dashboard, providing recommendations to mitigate variances between actual and underwritten rates of return.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field. An MBA or relevant professional designation (e.g., CPA, CFA) is highly preferred. Min 5+ years of financial modeling experience; background in the multi-family sector is preferred. Possess extensive experience building/supporting complex financial models, developing and monitoring metrics, and preparing advanced analytic analysis. Advanced Excel knowledge and experience working within the application under pressure is required. A relationship builder at all levels—internally and externally. A team player. Collaborates naturally, well, and easily. Confronts and resolves conflicts when necessary. A strong history of building positive long-term business relationships with peers, subordinates, and superiors. A consummate relationship builder. Confident, warm, understated with obvious business acumen. Strong personal presence and Venterra’s Core Values resonate and align with his/her/their beliefs and behaviors. Excellent communicator who enables the translation of complex and detailed financial and business information into concise informative messages. Must be a skilled writer as well as having strong presentation skills. Maintains strong attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and a results-driven mindset. Shown a strong acumen to learn how businesses run and the financial frameworks that support them. Well-read on Real Estate, economic, and business matters.
