CAD Industries ferroviaires Ltd. est une société québécoise ambitieuse, en activités depuis plus de 60 ans, spécialisée dans la réparation, la conversion et le reconditionnement d'équipements ferroviaires roulant (wagons et locomotives en tous genres) avec des ateliers et bureaux à Montréal (secteur Lachine) et en Alberta (sous la bannière Caltrax).

Au fil des ans, notre mission s'est précisée afin de devenir une entreprise responsable qui cherche notamment à réparer et prolonger la vie des équipements dont nos clients nous confient les travaux ou encore, dans plusieurs situations, de les moderniser et leur donner littéralement une deuxième vie.

Dans leurs projets, nos équipes voient donc à designer des équipements qui répondront aux besoins de ces mêmes clients qui œuvrent autant du coté marchandise que passagers.

RÉSUMÉ DU POSTE

Relevant du chef de service mécanique, le rédacteur technique sera responsable de tous les aspects entourant la recherche et la rédaction des procédures techniques et de la documentation s'y rapportant, et ce, tant pour les procédures standards, le reconditionnement d'équipements ferroviaires usagés et la fabrication de nouveaux produits.

Ceci sera accompli par l'utilisation de plusieurs méthodes, tout en garantissant le respect des normes et standards de l'industrie, de la réglementation applicable, et des spécifications et des processus internes.

PRINCIPALES RESPONSABILITÉS

  • Valider que toutes les politiques, processus et procédures HSE sont respectés ;
  • Faire de la recherche, planifier et rédiger des données opérationnelles techniques à l'aide de données approuvées de l'ingénierie ;
  • Réviser les données d'entretien technique lorsque requis ;
  • Valider et intégrer l'équipement ferroviaire dans les normes/directives ;
  • Lire et interpréter des dessins et des documents techniques ;
  • Planifier, exécuter et documenter les validations procédurales selon les normes/directives internes ;
  • Être responsable de la création, mise à jour et gestion de toutes les instructions de maintenance/entretien ferroviaire, des procédures opérationnelles, circulaires de maintenance/entretien et des manuels d'équipements ;
  • Réviser toutes les instructions de maintenance/entretien ferroviaire et procédures opérationnelles afin d'identifier des moyens d'optimiser le travail, l'utilisation du matériel et la performance ;
  • Préparer et créer des rapports récurrents tel que requis ;
  • Se conformer aux politiques et procédures de l'entreprise ainsi qu'aux directives des ressources humaines ;

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 5 ans d'expérience dans le domaine des publications techniques, ou un domaine similaire ;
  • Fortes aptitudes en rédaction;
  • Diplôme dans un domaine pertinent ;
  • Expérience dans l'industrie du transport et/ou ferroviaire (atout) ;
  • Connaissances de l'industrie de transport et/ou ferroviaire (atout) ;

CAD Railway Industries Ltd. is an ambitious Quebec-based company that has been in operation for over 60 years. We specialize in the repair, conversion, and refurbishment of rolling railway equipment (various types of wagons and locomotives) with workshops and offices in Montreal (Lachine sector) and Alberta (under the Caltrax banner).

Over the years, our mission has evolved to become a responsible company dedicated to repairing and extending the lifespan of the equipment entrusted to us by our clients. In many cases, we modernize these assets, essentially giving them a second life.

In their projects, our teams design equipment that meets the needs of clients operating in both freight and passenger transport sectors.

JOB SUMMARY

Reporting to the Mechanical Department Manager, the Technical Writer will be responsible for all aspects of researching and writing technical procedures and related documentation. This includes standard procedures, the refurbishment of used railway equipment, and the manufacturing of new products.

This will be achieved using various methods while ensuring compliance with industry norms and standards, applicable regulations, and internal specifications and processes.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure that all HSE policies, processes, and procedures are followed;
  • Conduct research, plan, and write technical operational data using approved and engineering-based information;
  • Review technical maintenance data as needed;
  • Validate and integrate railway equipment within relevant standards and guidelines;
  • Read and interpret technical drawings and documents;
  • Plan, execute, and document procedural validations in accordance with internal standards/guidelines;
  • Be responsible for creating, updating, and managing all railway maintenance instructions, operational procedures, maintenance circulars, and equipment manuals;
  • Review all railway maintenance instructions and operational procedures to identify ways to optimize work, material use, and performance;
  • Prepare and collaboratively create recurring reports as required;
  • Comply with company policies and procedures, as well as human resources directives;

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in technical publications or a related field;
  • Strong writing skills;
  • Diploma in a relevant field;
  • Experience in the transportation and/or railway industry;
  • Knowledge of the transportation and/or railway sector;
