Job Description

This Scenario Projection Modeler role is part of the Quantitative Strategies Projections Modeling team and is based in New York or Toronto. The primary focus is on developing econometric scenario projection models that establish macroeconomic relationships between financial variables (e.g., Interest Rates, Credit Spreads, or Foreign Exchange Rates) and macroeconomic indicators (e.g., GDP growth or Unemployment Rate). These models are essential for both business planning and stress testing.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop scenario projection models in collaboration with subject matter experts.
  • Document methodologies in accordance with Model Risk Management policies.
  • Implement models using R programming within internal systems.
  • Support Model Risk Management teams during their independent review and validation processes.
  • Present and review models and outputs with stakeholders, including subject matter experts and senior management.


Qualifications:

  • Strong quantitative and technical modeling skills, with experience in stress testing or risk modeling, or advanced graduate training in economics, finance, statistics, applied mathematics, or similar fields.
  • Proficiency in time series econometrics is essential.
  • Hands-on experience with R programming for statistical modeling.
  • Excellent written communication skills, particularly in producing well-structured technical documentation.
  • Strong verbal communication and presentation skills, with the ability to lead concise and effective discussions.
  • Experience with tactical software development to integrate with existing technology and modeling infrastructure.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.


Suggested Experience:

5+ years of experience in statistical modeling or time series analysis.
