Position Summary:
Reporting to the VP of Sales, the Technical Sales Representative will be responsible for managing and growing the business across the Atlantic Canada provinces through consultative selling of our industry-leading valve, automation, and service products while promoting the message that the application dictates the valve. The Technical Sales Representative will service clients in the Mining, Pulp & Paper, Power, Oil & Gas, Refining, and Water/Wastewater industries.
Key Responsibilities:
- Grow and maintain the business to $2.75 million for your territory by proactively selling the CGIS core brands.
- Foster long-term relationships with new and existing customers by successfully helping them meet their needs each day.
- Provide direction and guidance on technical solutions for clients and work closely with the CGIS Applications Specialist team to execute customer requirements.
- Communicate with existing customers to resolve product issues, ensuring the appropriate products are being used, displacing competitive product lines, effectively suggesting alternate solutions that best meet the customer’s needs.
- Understand customer needs to ensure all requirements in your quote then follow up on a regular basis to close sales.
- Support our vendor base by presenting their products with skill and enthusiasm. Show a willingness to work and travel with core vendors.
- Teach and challenge the client about the best product for the application by continually growing your knowledge of products and the applications in which they operate.
- Maintain activities in SAP B1 database and utilize and product sizing tools to their fullest potential.
- Navigate successfully through End User, Engineering, and OEM clients.
Technical Requirements:
- Degree or diploma in Electrical, Mechanical or Process Engineering or relevant work experience.
- Minimum of three years of industrial sales experience with extensive knowledge of the valve industry.

- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
This role can be based in either NS, NB, PEI, or NL and travel will be required up to 50% of the time.
