Our client is a leading Irish building contractor working on a broad range of buildings projects in the healthcare, education, industry, construction, and leisure industries. They are seeking to appoint Quantity Surveyors at all levels of experience to work on projects in Dublin, Limerick & Galway.

Candidates will be required to demonstrate capability and experience in dealing with challenging projects. Responsibilities include:

  1. Advise and report regularly to Commercial Manager
  2. Advise on contractual matters – general and project level
  3. Identify contract grounds for claim
  4. Commercial and QS support & Advise on appointing project staff (commercial)
  5. Look for opportunities to maximize revenue and reduce cost
  6. Assist project cash management
  7. Advise and support with project correspondence
  8. Negotiate and agree subcontractors
  9. Ensure final accounts are closed in a timely manner
  10. Identify and investigate losses
  11. Timely drafting commercial/contractual correspondence
  12. Negotiating subcontract and suppliers’ prices and terms
  13. Prepare subcontract and suppliers documents
  14. Prepare and review monthly cost reports
  15. Ensure risk registers, variation trackers, and extension of time tracker sheets are reviewed and updated monthly and included within monthly reports
  16. Negotiating subcontractors and suppliers final accounts

Requirements

Professional qualification in Quantity Surveying/Commercial Management

2+ years’ experience in a Quantity Surveyor role on construction projects

Ability to work on large scale, high headcount construction sites & sub-contractors experience

Liaise with Commercial Manager and Contracts Manager when dealing with internal stakeholders and client’s representatives while on site including attendance at meetings

Strong time management skills.

Must have excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.

Strong understanding of the construction industry and working on site

Ability to use time productively, maximize efficiency and meet challenging work goals

Must have fluent English and be eligible to work in Ireland.

€45K-€80K negotiable dependent on experience & qualifications
