About The Role

The Data Analyst will be a key member of the Operations Data Lake (ODL) team and will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable data pipelines and analytics solutions to support CITCO's data-driven initiatives.

About Operational Data Lake Team

The Operational Data Lake (ODL) is a multi-skilled team responsible for the implementation of Citco’s operational data lake and scaling data-driven analytics across different business units by leveraging advanced techniques and technologies. The ODL team is also focused on breaking data silos and building a single source of centrally governed operational data products.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and implement solutions accordingly.
  • Develop robust and scalable data pipelines to ingest, cleanse, transform, and aggregate data from various sources into the data lake.
  • Optimize data pipelines for performance, reliability, cost and scalability.
  • Design and optimize data structures and partitioning strategies for efficient query performance, minimize cost and resource utilization.
  • Implement frameworks for data quality checks and ensure data integrity throughout the ingestion pipeline.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot performance issues in Databricks clusters and Spark applications.
  • Implement monitoring, alerting, and logging solutions to ensure timely detection and resolution of issues.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements and best practices in Databricks and related technologies.
  • Contribute to the overall data architecture and infrastructure strategy of the organization.

Qualifications

About You:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams.
  • 1-2 years of experience in similar relevant roles.
  • Proficiency in Python/Apache Spark/SQL and Databricks.
  • Demonstrated ability to implement ELT/ETL processes.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Associate level Databricks certification is preferred.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Experience building dashboards in Power BI/Qlik/Tableau.
  • Assets:
  • Financial product knowledge and knowledge of Hedge Fund Administration.
  • Familiarity with machine learning concepts and frameworks.
  • Experience with other big data technologies such as Hadoop, Kafka, or Airflow.
  • Familiarity with JIRA and Confluence.
