Among those solutions, the company develops and delivers integrated bridge systems for warships, integrated dived navigation systems for submarines, and C2 systems for small craft. Presently, 23 navies totaling more than 600 warships and submarines operate using OSI systems. Due to the nature of our company, all employees must pass specific security criteria. Only candidates who are Canadian citizens, have PR status or have a citizenship from a NATO country, and who satisfy security clearance criteria, will be considered.


The Role

The Business Analyst – ERP (the “Business Analyst”) will work across all disciplines within the Commercial, Supply Chain Management Department (Category Management, Inventory Management, Warehousing and Logistics), Program Delivery (Project Controls, Project Management Office) and Finance to support and drive continuous improvement initiatives related to OSI’s Enterprise Resource Planning (“ERP”) software platform Epicor. The Business Analyst will thrive within the domains of system optimization, process development, project management, inventory management, and data analytics. Their primary objectives will be to interpret stakeholder requirements, establish or improve supporting ERP system workflows, standardize use of the ERP system through policy / procedure / guidelines, establish a training program to support system users, conduct cost / benefit analysis of customization requests, perform ERP system customization and mine and analyze data to report and facilitate critical decisions.

Main Responsibilities

PLANNING

  • Ability to thoroughly research ERP implementation problems, identify root causes, and pragmatically plan and effect solutions
  • Use systems, such as MS Project, to create a detailed schedule of tasks to perform and report against the work progress
  • Monitor progress of the work, and adjust task effort as necessary to complete projects on-time and on budget

SYSTEM ADMINISTRATION AND ANALYTICS

  • Act as the subject matter expert for all modules of ERP system
  • Consolidate and interpret the business’s ERP needs and analyze system functionality
  • Propose changes to optimize ERP utilization and in collaboration with OSI’s IT department implement increased ERP functionality and changes
  • Design and implement customizations, workflows, and dashboards to meet business requirements
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to ERP modules
  • Writing customized programs and scripts, as well as configuring ERP applications
  • Developing user-friendly functionalities and interfaces
  • Stay up to date with the latest ERP releases and functionality
  • Navigate systems and extract meaningful data that can be used to concisely summarize trends and areas of concern
  • Interpret, summarize and present large amounts of data in a manner that is easy to understand by management teams across the organization
  • Effectively use Excel and PowerBI to analyze, summarize and track data
  • Establish, monitor and report KPIs, such as but not limited to: sales orders, jobs, inventory, labour, and billing
  • Ability to interpret data and convert into a practical narrative

GOVERNANCE

  • Ability to understand and convert strategy into governance and process documents
  • Interpret inputs from many sources, analyze, standardize and document
  • Facilitate and create detailed process maps, standard operating procedures and other governance documents
  • Develop and deliver standardized training on systems upgrades, changes and new processes

You Bring

  • Post-secondary degree in a relevant field such as computer science or appropriate mixture of education and experience in systems administration, business analytics, process development and change management
  • ERP certification considered an asset, particularly Epicor
  • In-depth knowledge of ERP development tools, coding languages, and business processes
  • Comprehensive knowledge of system administration, business analytics best practices, domain experience in supply chain management, projects controls or finance considered a strong asset
  • Comprehensive working knowledge of ERP / MRP systems (in particular Epicor) and Excel
  • Strong ability to process, manipulate and report on large data sets
  • Practical experience critical thinking through problems and exercising good judgement
  • Ability to work independently on tasks and self-prioritize
  • Ability to develop collaborative relationships and deliver concise and effective communication
