General Function:

Reports directly to the Operations & Continuous Improvement Manager/ Plant Manager of the Moulding Department and is responsible for assisting the Plant Manager in carrying out his duties. Motivate and develop subordinates to the level of their capabilities.

Safety:

As a Leader in the Moulding Department, your first and foremost responsibility is safety.

  • Read the Company Safety Manual
  • Practice good safety habits
  • Ensure machines are being checked and signed off according to Company policy before using
  • Be watchful for potential hazards in the area
  • Assist the Plant Manager in setting a good example and ensure that all personnel comply with our Occupational Health & Safety Policy and legislated Occupational Health & Safety Standards.

Quality:

Quality is everyone’s responsibility. Know your part in the ISO 9001:2015 Quality System.

Productivity:

Maintain efficiency of the department by using your exceptional verbal, written and organization skills to mentor and train your staff in the proper way to perform their duties and ensure these duties are completed sufficiently on a daily basis.

Specific Duties:

  • Distributing job assignments to machine operators & set up technicians
  • Coordinating Production in order of Priorities.
  • Daily Quality Inspections at beginning and end of shift
  • First Off Inspections – to Approved Sample with Operators present
  • 5 Shot Rule enforcement
  • Ensure Inspection Criteria
  • Daily Safety Inspection
  • New Employee Orientation
  • Ensure Operators are trained, performing their inspections, and reporting scrap
  • Complete Molding In-Process Inspection Report, and Molding Quality Report
  • Disciplinary Action (as may be required)
  • Recording of Daily Attendance
  • Probationary and Annual Performance Appraisals
  • Performing First Aid / Follow up of all incidents that occurred on your shift
  • Scrap Levels / Productivity
  • Answering Machine Alarms
  • Keep areas clean, ensure new jobs are set up with correct supplies and equipment
  • Performing Accident Investigations
  • Participate with development and maintenance of 6S and Kanban program
  • Developing Departmental “LEAN” projects
  • Other duties as assigned by Plant Manager
