Process Engineer

Job Description
Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:
- Responsible for the continuous improvement of the heat & material balances of our processes.
- Processes include, but are not limited to: stone feed, process of calcining into lime, lime quality, all inputs to production, stone, fuels, additives, post-production packaging, etc.
- Have ownership of the process and in charge of process improvement and optimization.
- Root causes analysis on process issues.
- Providing process support for troubleshooting, optimization, and planning to production, maintenance, and quality control.
- Records any problems related to the process or system.
- Initiates, recommends, provides, and/or implements solutions.
- Involved in maintenance planning meetings, outage meetings, and continuous improvement meetings.
- Hold at least one daily handoff meeting with operators and team leaders about the daily instructions, production expectations, and any barriers they had during their shift.
- Work with Engineering to design, implement plant modification from the startup and transitioning to the continuous monitoring and optimization phase.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
Required Skills
Qualified candidates will have:
- A Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemical Engineering or related field.
- 4+ years of experience in root cause analysis and process engineering within maintenance, operations, or plant engineering environments.
- Industry background in manufacturing related to mining, paper mills, steel plants, refractory, heavy equipment fabrication, stone processing, cement plants, etc., preferred.
- A 'take charge' person with a Positive & Proactive attitude with the ability to perform with minimal supervision.
- Able and willing to spend the majority of time in the plant with the operators.
- Technical aptitude & analytical skills.
- Detail & process oriented with strong problem resolution abilities.
- Excellent communication & interpersonal skills.
