Salary range for the position is $74,618 to $107,264. Interior Health establishes salaries within the minimum and maximum of the salary range based on consideration of the qualifications, experience of the applicant, and an internal equity review of the salaries of other employees.

How will you create an impact:
The Person- and Family-Centered Care Coordinator is the acknowledged internal expert for the Patient Satisfaction Survey and related data, report-writing, and functionality of navigating various systems that collect Patient-and Family-Centered Care (PFCC) data. As the resource for PFCC, the Coordinator is expected to facilitate the successful coordination of PFCC projects across Interior Health (IH) and support strategic planning initiatives through coordinating local and authority-wide implementations when applicable.

The Coordinator works with partners to streamline and standardize processes and ensure policies, procedures, and standards are adhered to in relation to PFCC. The Coordinator communicates with all levels of leaders as well as public/patient partners within IH and external counterparts including the Patient Voices Network (PVN) to address public/patient partner recruitment. The Coordinator participates on internal and provincial Patient/Public Advisory committees as required; works closely with the managers, unit project leads, and coordinating committees to address needs of public/patient partners and IH PFCC champions. The Coordinator is an expert in the design, creation, and production of reports for various user groups and individuals; provides technical leadership and direction to project resources; provides advice and system recommendations to team members and other corporate department partners; and liaises with various Health Authorities to exchange best practice process implementation.

In alignment with IH’s Occupational Health & Safety Program, employees shall adhere to all Occupational Health and Safety policies and procedures at all times and attend all required training. Employees are responsible to report any identified hazards, unsafe conditions or incidents to your manager or supervisor immediately.

What will you work on:
• Acts as a subject matter expert providing PFCC-related advice to both internal and external partners to ensure that PFCC Strategic Priorities are met and to support the PFCC framework to be embedded across IH.

• Works closely with partners at all levels to identify and support priority-setting for PFCC-related activities and process improvement. Identifies opportunities and makes recommendations for projects.

• Coordinates data flow internally, and externally as needed as well as monitors PFCC related performance indicators.

• Receives requests from leaders to recruit and onboard public/patient partners to participate in IH-led Committees as well as IH Public Advisory Committees.

• Maintains a record of all public/patient partners. Develops and implements standard work and related documentation for public/patient partner onboarding and orientation.

• Participates in the development and implementation of a strategy to maximize the pool of patient/public partners to support various IH Committees and Public Advisory Councils.

• Identifies and facilitates application of best practices and ensures strong process methodology and evaluation of PFCC initiatives. Ensures expedited resolution to problems or barriers to enable successful implementation of solutions.

• Supports the development, coordination, and delivery of PFCC training sessions, drives train the trainer activities, and provides one-on-one guidance. Ensures training sessions are evaluated for effectiveness. Develops and maintains training materials and reference documentation to ensure knowledge transfer and consistent usage by users.

• Develops and revises reports to meet user needs. Works with other report-writing software as required.

• Maintains ongoing support for initiatives from project sponsors and user groups, keeps public/patient partners aware of project status, and ensures effective communication channels are in place. Supports the planning and implementation of projects and maintains project plans when required.

• Represents the Quality and Patient Safety Department at PFCC meetings and committees, both internally and externally, establishing and maintaining clear lines of communication between user departments and technical team members. Builds relationships with partners that enable the sharing of knowledge and information and encourages collaboration on issues.

• Acts as a spokesperson and advocate for embedding the PFCC Framework across IH.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualfications
Education, Training and Experience
• A level of education, training, and experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree in a Health Science related field.
• A minimum of three to five years of coordination, quality improvement or project management experience.
• Previous experience and education in quality improvement methodology is an asset.
• Or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Skills and Abilities
• Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills with the ability to communicate complex ideas in simple terminology.
• Ability to communicate effectively one-on-one and in front of large groups including senior leadership groups.
• Ability to understand and clearly relate technical information and principals of operation to other members of the organization.
• Ability to analyze operational problems and recommend innovative solutions demonstrating time management skills.
• Strong customer service orientation.
• A solid understanding of change management theory and its application and the ability to foster change throughout complex organizations. Consensus building is key to the success of this role. The ability to exercise independent judgment in reaching decisions is required and the ability to determine when consultation with leaders or external advisors is necessary.
• Valid BC driver’s license.
• Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
