How You Will Contribute:

As the VP of Broadband Access Product Line Management, you will be responsible for setting the strategic and investment direction for the broadband access solution & portfolio including overall P&L ownership.

In addition to holding responsibility for end-to-end lifecycle management, you will champion, both internally and externally, Broadband Access offerings resulting in growth in importance and ultimately, make a significant contribution to overall strategic business objectives.

This role will focus on ‘last mile’ products and solutions with direct ownership of specific products as well as working with other PLM teams to incorporate the broader Ciena portfolio into Broadband Access specific solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • You will set the strategic direction for the overall solution and product line to align with key corporate objectives.
  • You will oversee the entire product & solution life cycle, from conception to end-of-life, leading and mentoring cross-functional teams in the development, launch, and management of products.
  • You will conduct market research to understand customer needs and the competitive landscape, and will collaborate with sales, marketing, and engineering teams to ensure solution success.
  • You will manage product pricing and positioning strategies, ensuring products meet both quality standards and regulatory requirements.
  • You will be accountable for monitoring and reporting on product performance and customer feedback.
  • You will build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and partners.
  • You will act as a Ciena representative at relevant trade shows, marketing events, and speaking engagements.

  • You possess in-depth knowledge of the broadband industry, customers, and competitors.
  • You have experience in a variety of leadership positions in a cross-functional networking product organization.
  • You can articulate, communicate, and deliver large-scale product and technology programs, through strategic planning, trusted relationship building and targeted and timely communication.
  • You’re readily able to present technical information in a way that it is easily understood by the audience.
  • You have extensive experience in building, retaining, and developing a scalable, global PLM team while fostering a highly productive and rewarding work environment.
  • The customer experience is top priority for you. You establish and maintain trusted internal and external customer relationships through delivering on commitments, creative and timely problem-solving, and knowing what it takes to consistently exceed customer expectations.

The Must Haves:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or related field. An MBA is preferred.
  • Extensive experience in senior product management roles with direct experience in Broadband technologies including Routing, Switching, PON and BNG.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of product line management principles and practices.
