THE BRANCH MANAGER OPPORTUNITY

The Branch Manager will be responsible for the efficient day to day operations of the Mississauga branch (facility / office), including the sales, warehouse, installation & service crews, and office administration employees of the branch. This position plans, directs and leads all sales and business operations and is accountable for the profitability of the branch. This role functions essentially as an entrepreneur in their own market and focuses on leading a team of sales and operations staff to maximize profits and grow the business in the province.


The Branch Manager serves as a strategic business partner in the field for the senior management team at the head office. He/she promotes customer-oriented business focus to the culture of the branch, using best practice processes and methodologies to develop and implement solutions to sales and business development initiatives.


ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Manage the day-to-day operations of the branch to achieve short- and long-term sales and profit objectives;
  2. Act as a sales leader for the branch servicing major accounts and actively pursuing new business;
  3. Lead a team comprised of customer service, outside sales and warehouse employees. coach and inspire them to strive to achieve excellence in customer service, sales and operations;
  4. Hire and develop employees to create a high-performance team which focuses on providing exceptional customer service, improving margins, and increasing sales and ROI;
  5. Develop business plans for the branch that supports the enterprise-wide business plan;
  6. Develop and maintain long term relationships with customers to optimize the customer experience;
  7. Provide a safe working environment that encourages employee development and high customer service.


THE IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE

The successful candidate will possess most of the following qualities:

  • Ten years of relevant experience within sales management or branch management in a business and consumer sales environment;
  • A true leader who can engage people, builds trusting relationships, inspires confidence, and enables innovation.
  • A multi-tasker who is capable of staying focused in a very demanding, busy environment
  • A proven history of building a culture of performance and accountability, developing, and maintaining partnership with staff, and building trust in foundational operational services and tools
  • Deep experience in managing teams, supporting cross-functional collaboration, developing staff, and setting clear goals
  • Decisive, focused, and curious, with the ability to challenge the status quo – prefers candid conversations while building a culture of trust and accountability
  • A strategic entrepreneurial thinker who understands how operations and finances support the broader mission of the organization
  • Experienced in revenue development strategies, in the building supply industry
  • Exhibits sound judgement and a high degree of integrity and discretion.



EDUCATION/PROFESSIONAL ACCREDITATIONS

A Bachelor’s degree minimum & an BMA is preferred, but an equivalent combination of education, training, and years of experience will be considered.
