PURPOSE:

The Equipment Specialist drives process improvements for the brand’s restaurant excellence team and provides recommendations on actionable items to senior management. The Equipment Specialist is responsible for all equipment projects (sourcing and designing) and restaurant back of the house flow design for new openings and renovations. The Equipment Specialist also drives various process improvement projects on the different operational platforms for KFC Restaurants.


Key Responsibilities: (includes but not limited to):

  • Support the development team to review and approve kitchen layouts for new builds and renovations, to ensure the layouts are compliant with adequate capacity, food and health safety standards.
  • Innovate, plan, test, and execute restaurant improvement projects at a large scale, delivering initiatives that are “field ready” with simple and right-first-time execution.
  • Represent brand operations and accountable for the Restaurant Excellence leadership at various meetings on cross-functional teams and key strategic projects: Non-Traditional, Drive-Thru, Restaurant Kitchen Design and Capacity Models.
  • Manage relationships with franchisees and equipment vendors.
  • Share information with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Design guidelines and source KFC Back of House equipment as needed. Manage maintenance and operations of restaurant equipment and systems. Analyze and suggest improvements to restaurant operations procedures.
  • Work closely with international counterparts to gain approval on local initiatives.


Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field is required. (Mechanical/Industrial Engineering is preferred)
  • Restaurant operations experience and basic knowledge of food and health safety standards preferred.
  • 1+ year Project Management experience preferred.
  • Exhibit outstanding attention to detail, process execution and time management skills.
  • Balance multiple priorities successfully.
  • Excellent analytical & problem resolution skills.
  • Compelling verbal and written communication skills, and demonstrated proficiency in presentation to all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to cultivate and maintain strong working relationships with different teams, internal and external.
  • Intermediate level of AutoCAD.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office skills, including PowerPoint, Word, Project, Power BI and Excel.
  • 10% Travel is involved.
