Position Summary

Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Production Supervisor will be responsible to lead the manufacturing processes and ensure that orders are filled and achieved daily. The individual will implement daily and weekly production targets and achieve daily KPI’s.


In this role, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating daily production activities, ensuring that processes run efficiently and meet quality standards. Your duties will include supervising production staff, monitoring workflow, resolving operational issues, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality protocols.


You will also be responsible for maintaining production schedules, optimizing productivity, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives. If you have strong leadership skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a background in production management, we would love to hear from you


Responsibilities

  • Supervise and develop employees, direct production, and related activities on a shift.
  • Maintain a safe working environment and ensure continued compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act, JHSC recommendations or MOL work orders, Company Safety rules.
  • Provide performance management counseling and/or progressive discipline in a timely fashion
  • Assist in accident investigation and take an active role in WSIB case management and ensuring early and safe return of injured workers to modified and/or productive duties.
  • Drive production efficiency, minimize waste and maintain product quality standards.
  • Ensures that proper GMP, Safety, Food Safety and housekeeping procedures are followed plant wide.
  • Communicate and ensure compliance with company policy, standards and procedures, quality standards, and QA/HACCP
  • Ensure all associates have the necessary resources and capabilities to effectively accomplish their responsibilities
  • Look for ways to reduce or eliminate down time and help identify constraints in the production process
  • Analyze and record root cause of production delays
  • Work closely with the sanitation and maintenance teams to ensure that the production lines are meeting safety and food safety compliance during production
  • Any other duties assigned by the Plant Manager and Management
  • Monitor production plans, start times, dismissal times, and additional daily activities.
  • Establish and work within budget as permitted by the Plant Manager.
  • Use designated technology to assure quality/accuracy of shipped product as well as efficient customer service.
  • Review customer error calls relevant to production to measure & track quality, accuracy, and pick metrics along with identifying error trends to improve defined metrics
  • Coordinate with ops team, suppliers, and contractors to implement corrective & preventive action plan
  • Use personal protective and safety equipment and clothing as directed by the employer and report workplace hazards
  • May be required on occasion to work, support and liaise with other AQM divisions


At a minimum you have

  • Minimum 5 years production supervisory experience, preferably in a Food or Beverage manufacturing environment
  • Flexibility to work on weekends, varying shifts, and holidays as required
  • Willing and able to work in a cold environment
  • Experience with ERP systems is an added advantage
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Proficient in Business systems, ability to extract data from the system to create management reports
  • Leadership: Provide guidance and direction to the production lines.
  • Innovative: Think of creative and efficient solutions to problems others may take for granted.
  • Ownership: Take pride in what you do. Treat the process as if it is your own.
  • Time Management: Understand process flow and prioritize accordingly.
