AstraZeneca is building an internal consulting capability in our Global Business Services (GBS) group focused on delivering high-quality project management capabilities to our enterprise organization.


Assignment Specifics:

This role is part of the US Oncology Business Unit and is dedicated to ensuring orchestration of multiple Agile teams towards coordinated delivery for all products in a specific category of our US OBU Service Catalogue including products such as Data Management, Analytical, and Omnichannel.


Typical Accountabilities

As an Agile Delivery Manager, you will guide and support an agile release train (ART) across many scrum teams that support the assigned workstream. Collaborate closely with Product Owners & Leads, Program Managers, Agile team leads, and stakeholders to prioritize and manage the product backlog.


This role will work under the direction of the Agile Transformation Lead, to help establish and implement systems and processes that will drive consistency, ways of working, seamless execution of product innovation and delivery.


You will lead and facilitate team level ceremonies (sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives) that support the delivery of epics. Your core responsibilities will be enabling teams as a true servant leader to ensure that goals are met by the teams and the ART.


Education, Qualifications, Skills and Experience

Essential


  1. Proven ability to lead Scrum teams for complex deliveries.
  2. Facilitation of all the team's meetings and ceremonies using SAFe Framework.
  3. Excellent communication, collaboration, and a self-starter.
  4. Removes roadblocks, many of which will be beyond the team's authority or will require support from other teams.
  5. Continuous improvement mindset and highlights opportunities to improve efficiency of scrum teams.
  6. Ability to coach and mentor the team on agile ways of working.
  7. Management of dependencies internal and external to scrum team.
  8. Raises risks and blockers when necessary to appropriate team members / leadership.
  9. Experience working closely with Business stakeholders (Product Owner) to understand and align on backlog priorities.
  10. Experience managing more than one scrum team (2 or more).
  11. Extensive understanding of agile methodology, techniques, frameworks (SAFe, Scrum, or Kanban) and agile tools (Jira and Confluence).
  12. Proficiency in Jira and Confluence with the ability to customize workflows and drive tool adoption.
  13. Participated in a PI event.
  14. Minimum of 5-7 years of experience as a Scrum Master in Agile teams preferably in regulated industries and highly matrixed organizations such as Pharma.
  15. Minimum of 5-7 years of experience as a Project/Program manager in a Non-Agile environment.
  16. Bachelor’s degree.

  2. Management Consulting experience
  3. Experience working with distributed or remote teams across different time zones and cultural backgrounds.
