Mission:

As the VP of Engineering, you will be the architect of Connect&GO's technological future. This is a pivotal role demanding a visionary leader who can inspire and guide a high-performing engineering team. You will be responsible for crafting and executing a technology strategy aligned with our business objectives while fostering a culture of innovation and excellence. The ideal candidate is a proven leader with a deep understanding of enterprise software development, a passion for scaling engineering organizations, and a track record of delivering exceptional products.

What you will do as our VP, Engineering:
  1. Articulate, communicate and execute the engineering vision and strategy in alignment with company goals.
  2. Drive innovation and ensure the adoption of cutting-edge technologies and best practices, including the usage of artificial intelligence and process automation.
  3. Build, grow, and drive teams of engineers and developers to build quality software and deliver on strategic goals.
  4. Foster a culture of creativity, collaboration, efficiency, innovation, and excellence while continuously elevating the quality and caliber of our engineering organization with the best interests of Connect&GO’s customers in mind.
  5. Build an empowering engineering culture by fostering psychological safety and inclusivity, supporting employees in developing new skills and achieving promotions, and partnering with the People & Culture team to create and implement structures for promotions, hiring, and employee development, ensuring high staff retention and progression.
  6. Work with product, design, customer success, sales, and marketing teams to bring products to market, advocating for engineering and ensuring effective cross-functional collaboration.
  7. Represent engineering within the senior leadership team and ensure the cohesiveness of the engineering strategy with the company strategy.
  8. Structure, implement and optimize best-in-class software engineering processes and workflows for efficiency and productivity.
  9. Implement metrics to measure and improve team performance and product quality on a continuous basis.
  10. Ensure clear, healthy communication and support during organizational changes, including potential mergers and acquisitions.
  11. Ensure that the product vision is realized through excellence in execution, creating value for our customers.
  12. Select and manage the performance of third-party vendors and external firms.
What you will need to succeed:
  1. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  2. Minimum of 10 years of engineering experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  3. Proven record of managing high-performing development teams.
  4. Extensive experience in software development, architecture, and engineering best practices.
  5. Strong understanding of enterprise software architecture, cloud technologies, and DevOps practices.
  6. Proven knowledge and experience of agile methodologies, including the philosophy and mindset that comes with them.
  7. Strong project management and enterprise resource planning skills.
  8. Experience in building enterprise SaaS cloud-based and mobile solutions.
  9. Experience in transactional systems, point of sale, e-commerce and/or payments is an asset.
  10. Exceptional leadership and team management skills.
  11. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
  12. Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  13. Passion for technology and innovation, with a forward-thinking mindset.
  14. Experience in supporting SRED and CDAE tax credits programs.
