Deep Sky is the world’s first gigaton-scale carbon removal project developer. We’re looking for a bilingual and experienced Public Funding Manager to join our Deep Sky team, reporting to our VP Finance & Operations. This role is a unique opportunity to join a fast-growing company aiming to solve the climate crisis by removing CO2 from the atmosphere and putting it back underground, where it belongs.

In this role, you will manage complex public funding programs with a wide array of internal and external interfaces to contribute to Deep Sky’s scale-up. You will be responsible for orchestrating and writing grant applications at a significant scale, identifying funding opportunities, and getting targeted projects off the ground. You will work across teams to enhance our public funding strategy and support additional projects.

Vous serez responsable d’orchestrer et de rédiger des demandes de subventions, d’identifier des opportunités de financement et de lancer des nouveaux projets. Vous travaillerez avec différentes équipes pour améliorer notre stratégie de financement public et soutenir d’autres projets pour augmenter l’impact de Deep Sky.


In this role you will // Dans ce rôle, vous devrez:
  • Manage complex public funding programs with various internal and external interfaces
  • Orchestrate and write grant applications at a significant scale, in partnership with projects managers and leaders across the organization, particularly in the Policy and Science teams
  • Keep a detailed calendar that includes all deadlines and milestones for public funding opportunities: submission dates, implementation of effective data collection procedures, reporting, follow-up, etc
  • Identify funding opportunities and assess the eligibility of Deep Sky projects for public funding opportunities
  • Align public funding opportunities with other sources of financing and strive for optimal funding structures on a corporate and project level
  • Help maintain records of financial transactions related to grants and ensure compliance with legal requirements
  • Prepare complete and accurate financial statements and reports for grants
  • Participate in special projects as needed, notably in new standards related to financial accounting for climate and carbon credits, and project/infrastructure financing

  • Aligner les opportunités de financement public avec d’autres sources de financement et rechercher des structures de financement optimales au niveau de l’entreprise et des projets
  • Aider à maintenir des registres des transactions financières liées aux subventions et garantir la conformité avec les exigences légales
  • Préparer des états financiers et des rapports complets et précis pour les subventions
  • Participer à des projets spéciaux selon les besoins, notamment dans les nouvelles normes liées à la comptabilité financière pour le climat et les crédits carbone, et au financement de projets/infrastructures
An ideal candidate has // Le(la) candidat(e) idéal(e) possède:
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in grants or funds management
  • A master’s degree in business, economics, engineering or related field, or equivalent work experience
  • A network of contacts in Canadian and/or US institutions and broad knowledge of public funding and mechanisms in industries such as renewables, utilities, large manufacturing projects
  • Strong commercial acumen and a willingness to work against clear and quantifiable targets
  • Ability to communicate complex matters at various levels of hierarchy
  • Bilingual French/English is required
  • Detail-oriented and highly analytical yet practical
  • Minimum 3 ans d’expérience dans la gestion de subventions ou de fonds

  • Bilingue français/anglais est requis
