About this role

What will you be responsible for?
Provides oversight and support for the planning and scheduling function for the Global Project portfolio of projects.

Your role will consist of

Here is a snapshot of what your day to day will look like:

  • Develop and update where applicable the governance documents related to Global Project Planning and Scheduling.
  • Mentoring/Training of key planners and schedulers in the use of the scheduling systems and processes.
  • Owner of the project Planning and Scheduling system(s) for the company. This would include developing and maintaining the global scheduling environment and configuration.
  • Scheduling Coding Structure Owner – Manage the updates and communication of updates.
  • Maintenance of schedule benchmarking data and coordination of benchmark data management with other project controls functions.
  • Working with the other functional areas to develop and maintain the data and procedural interfaces. Be a super user of the scheduling system(s).
  • Work with projects to ensure the project data setup is in a format to support the input into the projects benchmarking and reporting systems.
  • As required work with project teams to ensure the correct Project Planning and Scheduling Setup.
  • Assist in conducting project reviews, with emphasis on analysis and mitigation of variances to plan.
  • Assist in review of project closeout reports and validation of metrics data for inclusion in corporate projects database.
  • Working with the Senior Director Project Controls and the Regional PC Directors/Mangers, develop and support the global planning and scheduling organization.

Here is what we need to see from you

Education:

  • Tertiary degree in related field.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 10-15 years’ experience in planning and scheduling on heavy industrial projects, or an equivalent combination of training and experience are necessary.
  • At least 2 years field construction experience and at least 2 years in an EPC consulting/construction environment would be an advantage.
  • Experience in Planning and Scheduling and scheduling of underground and surface mines and associated civil infrastructure projects (e.g. roads, tunnels, mineshafts, dams, water diversion structures).

Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficiency in commercial software applications for Planning and Scheduling.
Working conditions and location
  • Position is located at the Vancouver office.
  • Position will be required to travel to and assist other domestic and international sites.
  • Position may require frequent and/or extended travel to foreign locations.

The expected salary range for this role is CAD $ 148,920 to 166,250. This range is tied to the British Columbia market for jobs performed in British Columbia. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience. The salary offer will not be based on a candidate’s pay history at other jobs, and by law, Newmont will not seek information about pay history, and candidates should not share such information with Newmont.
