A career at National Bank as a Senior Analyst in the Risk Management department for the Financial Markets and International sector means acting as a credit expert in a variety of business opportunities and having expertise in a diversified portfolio of counterparties. Your job

• Manage a diversified portfolio of counterparties comprised of investment funds, pension funds, hedge funds, CCPs, and insurance companies located globally

• Assess credit risk for counterparties under your responsibility, collect information for analysis and evaluation, and adapt existing analysis models

• Research and publish memos internally on various current topics that have a direct or indirect impact on the Bank by following macroeconomic news and analyzing its impact on our portfolio.

• Work in close collaboration with the business units at the Bank understanding their needs and proactively managing the risks related to the various business initiatives

• Carry out complex and varied analyses, and perform different large-scale assessments in order to provide relevant information for decision making

• Participate in and carry out special projects that have an impact on the development of practices, policies or products as well as the optimization of operational efficiency and information quality to reduce the risk of loss and increase the Bank's profitability

• Produce comprehensive reports using multiple data sources to support risk management decision-making and present data in a clear, actionable format for senior management and stakeholders.

• Utilize tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Quicksight, Excel VBA, and Python to prepare, analyze and visualize data and employ AI tools to enhance workflow and improve efficiency.


Your team

Within the Financial Markets and International sector in the risk management department, you will be part of a specialized team of 7 senior analysts and report to the Senior Director Financial Markets and International - Credit Risk Management.

Our team stands out for its extensive coverage of non-banking financial institutions and expertise in the management of specialized counterparties such as investment funds, pension funds, CCPs, insurance companies and structured products.

Prerequisite:

• University degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field and 3-5 years of relevant experience

• A professional certification CFA/CPA/FRM, an asset

• Experience in credit risk analysis, particularly with non-bank financial institutions

• Knowledge of Bloomberg and proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, Quicksight, Excel VBA, Python)

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail and excellent communication and report-writing skills

• Curiosity and willingness to continuously learn and adapt

• Solid basics in financial concepts/derivatives and securities finance
