We are seeking a highly motivated and proactive Maintenance Supervisor – Afternoon Shift to lead and support our maintenance team. This role is reporting to the Maintenance Manager and is responsible for overseeing maintenance operations, ensuring equipment reliability, and fostering a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement. The Maintenance Supervisor will collaborate closely with the Maintenance Manager, Asset Reliability Leader, and Maintenance Planner & Scheduler to optimize equipment performance, minimize downtime, and ensure compliance with industry regulations and company standards.
The role:
1. Leadership & Team Development:
- Lead by example, promoting servant leadership principles—coaching, mentoring, and engaging the maintenance team to drive high performance and morale.
- Foster a collaborative team culture, encouraging skill development, accountability, and ownership among team members.
- Provide training and mentorship to enhance technicians' skills and keep them up to date with best practices in maintenance, safety, and food industry standards.
- Ensure alignment between maintenance and production teams to support operational goals and optimize efficiency.
2. Equipment Maintenance & Reliability:
- Supervise daily maintenance activities, ensuring equipment operates efficiently with minimal disruption to production.
- Collaborate with the Asset Reliability Leader to implement preventive, predictive, condition-based, and proactive maintenance programs.
- Support root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective actions for recurring equipment failures.
- Optimize lubrication programs, vibration analysis, and other predictive maintenance techniques.
- Oversee installation, maintenance, and calibration of industrial instrumentation and related devices.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations (HACCP, GMP) and plant sanitation standards during maintenance activities.
3. Planning & Scheduling Support:
- Work closely with the Maintenance Planner & Scheduler to ensure effective execution of work orders and minimize production downtime.
- Assist in prioritizing maintenance tasks based on asset criticality and operational needs.
- Ensure maintenance team members accurately complete work orders in the CMMS (MaintainX).
- Monitor spare parts inventory in collaboration with the planner, ensuring availability of critical components.
4. Project Coordination & Continuous Improvement:
- Participate in cross-functional projects, including equipment upgrades, renovations, and automation improvements.
- Drive continuous improvements to optimize the Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF) and Mean Time to Repair (MTTR) through better planning and execution.
- Support compliance with regulatory audits, including maintenance documentation, safety inspections, and equipment records.
5. Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Plan, assign, and review maintenance work to ensure timely and effective execution.
- Monitor and assess performance of maintenance technicians, providing coaching and development as needed.
- Ensure a safe working environment, enforcing all health, safety, and food industry regulations.
- Respond to emergency maintenance issues, providing hands-on support when necessary.

You offer:
Technical Skills & Experience:
- 3+ years of experience as a licensed Industrial Mechanic (433A) or a licensed Industrial Electrician (442A), or similar engineering experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in food production.
- 3+ years of experience in manufacturing/packaging equipment maintenance.
- Strong knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, pumps, gearboxes, motors, conveyors, and servo motors.
- Proficiency in using milling machines, lathes, and welding equipment.
- Experience with CMMS systems (MaintainX preferred) for tracking maintenance tasks and asset performance.
- Knowledge of HACCP, GMP, and food industry specific maintenance standards.
- Ability to read and interpret machine manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
