Job Summary:

The Base Operations Supervisor will ensure the safe and efficient operation of Grouse Mountain’s aerial tramway systems, parking lots, and pay parking program while overseeing and maintaining the cleanliness of all offices, buildings, washrooms, grounds, and gardens. The Base Operations Supervisor is also responsible for recruiting, coaching, and supervising a team of up to 40 front line employees.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Supervising the daily operations of both the Skyride and Gondola operations - ensuring maximum efficiency and safety.
  • Managing internal payroll, data entry, personnel reviews, and scheduling.
  • Assisting and coordinating special requests and needs of all departments.
  • Implementing, creating, and revising training and emergency procedures and operational manuals.
  • Selecting, interviewing, hiring, and training employees for the positions of Skyride Operator, Team Leader, Line Control Attendant, Parking Attendant, and Day and Night Shift Custodian.
  • Collecting and reporting visitor traffic, payroll, and parking data.
  • Ensuring the cleanliness and safety of all base areas, washrooms, buildings, and grounds.
  • Implementing emergency action planning in the event of adverse weather conditions, missing, lost or injured persons, tramway mechanical or electrical failure.
  • Assisting North Shore Rescue, RCMP, North Van District Fire BC Ambulance, and other agencies with emergency operations.

Required Qualifications and Abilities:

  • Friendly, enthusiastic, and positive work ethic and attitude.
  • The ability to multitask, prioritize, and delegate duties accordingly.
  • The ability to thrive in a high-volume, challenging environment.
  • Innovative thinking and problem-solving techniques.
  • The ability to work in a variety of weather conditions (4 season resort).
  • Must be physically fit and able to lift 50+ pounds.
  • Knowledge in basic office skills.
  • Previous supervisory experience an asset.

Compensation and Benefits:

$21.62/hour up to $25.28/hour
