DESCRIPTION

Working within the mission, vision, and values of Wing Kei, this position assists in improving the quality of care for our residents and supports their physical, social, emotional, and spiritual needs, in accordance with the organization’s resident-centered approach, relevant government standards, and residents’ rights.

THE ROLEKey Accountabilities
  1. Demonstrate, promote, and advocate the Wing Kei vision, mission, and core values.
  2. Assist in improving the quality of care for our residents.
  3. Deliver personal care to promote comfort and safety for the residents during activities of daily living and personal hygiene in accordance with the standards of resident care.
  4. Observe and report changes in the residents’ physical and emotional condition.
  5. Assist in promoting independence of residents in their activities of daily living while respecting their individual rights and choices.
  6. Maintain effective communication and good relationships with residents, families, and significant others.
  7. Participate as a team member in cooperation with other departments to ensure quality care of the residents.
  8. Participate in team and family conferences and provide input in the problem-solving process.
  9. Perform other related duties as assigned.

THE INDIVIDUAL WHO WILL SUCCEED

  1. Is aligned with Wing Kei’s vision and mission in delivering excellent care to seniors.
  2. Has completed high school education.
  3. Experience in a senior care setting is an asset.
  4. Possesses good interpersonal skills.
  5. Knowledge of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) and a background in spiritual care training is an asset.
