Our first product, nymble for obesity, is a clinically curated AI companion that supports people in navigating their obesity treatment journey—right from their phone. No apps, no logins, no complexity.
We are a small but veteran (previous digital health exit) mission-focused team that includes serial physician-entrepreneurs, leaders in healthcare operations and strategy, deep technical expertise - all backed by a global scientific advisory board. We're proud to be building right here in Canada with a focus to export innovation across the globe.
The Role
We're hiring a Mid-Level AI Engineer to help us develop intelligent, clinically-informed agents, leveraging state-of-the-art frameworks that personalize patient care at scale. You'll work directly with our Lead ML Engineer and CTO, while collaborating with product, clinical, and strategy teams to bring key products and features to life.
What You'll Do
- Design, build and refine prompt-based and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) systems for real-time health interactions
- Encode clinical logic and behavioral support into chat flows that adapt to each patient's journey
- Implement tools for fast and safe agent testing and iteration
- Contribute to model evaluation and optimization in production settings
- Support deployment pipelines and backend integration for live features
What We're Looking For
- 3+ years of experience working on AI/ML, with preference in healthcare or another high-trust domain
- Strong experience with Python and modern AI/LLM frameworks (e.g., Agents SDK, Langgraph, Crew AI, Autogen, RAG, vector stores, multi-agentic frameworks)
- Skilled in prompt engineering for consistency, personalization, and clinical reliability.
- Experience with OpenAI tools, including Function Calling, Tool Use, and Assistants API
- Knowledge of how to guide model behavior using prompt chaining, guardrails, and structured responses.
- Experience designing and fine-tuning LLM-based agents or chatbots
- Competent with core programming concepts, including algorithms, data structures and type systems
- Experience working with SQL databases, designing relational schemas and writing queries
- Able to work confidently in the terminal with bash
- Preference for those with an understanding of patient-centric product design and safety considerations
- Bonus: experience with Azure or GCP, agentic workflows, or health tech integrations
