The Manager Technical Operations Support reports to the Senior Director of Maintenance and Procurement and will be responsible for the day-to-day line maintenance to support activities for all the bases.

Responsibilities

  • Manages Line Maintenance Operations policies and procedures contained within the Air Transat MCM and MPM are adhered to.
  • Ensures that AMO standards, processes, and control of maintenance activities are accomplished on aircraft at main bases, line maintenance, and seasonal stations.
  • Ensures the QSMS policies and procedures are adhered to in accordance with the company requirements.
  • Ensures that the safety reports and CAPAs are actioned & responded to in order to mitigate the risk.
  • Collaborates with the Training department regarding training course requirements for Line Maintenance Operations.
  • Coordinates negotiations with the union and is responsible for conducting the labour relations meetings & addressing action items.
  • Ensures proper communication channels are utilized and system processes and procedures are adhered to.
  • Participates in Emergency Response preparedness for Line Maintenance Operations.
  • Plans the manpower needs and equipment for the Line Maintenance Operations and participates with the Human Resources department in the selection and the needs of human resources.
  • Coordinates with Planning, Purchasing, Engineering, and Quality the work that should be done at each station to ensure airworthiness of the aircraft in order to minimize delays on flight departures, accordingly, to Transport Canada regulations.
  • Leads introduction of the new Electronic Time sheets Polaris initiative for Tech Ops.

Minimum Requirements

  • College or university diploma in a field related to aircraft maintenance;
  • 5+ years of related Airline Maintenance, MRO, manufacturing or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated skills in people and project management organizational skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, and with changing priorities.
  • Proficiency with MS Office software.
  • Good working knowledge of applicable airline standards and other regulations (e.g. CARs) (asset).
  • Strong knowledge of the airline maintenance industry.
  • Sense of initiative, self-discipline, and proactive thinking.
  • Ability to self-motivate and work with minimal supervision.
  • Language skills: English essential (oral and written), good working knowledge of French a strong asset.

The position is based at 5959 Côte Vertu and the schedule is hybrid.
