V-LAW is Canada’s first-of-its-kind virtual law firm. Discover a new way of practicing law with more ease, comfort, and purpose. Fall in love with law again. Practice law anywhere in the world—whether it’s to increase your billable hours, spend more time with family, or decrease overhead costs. V-Law is for you.
This opportunity is ideal for:
- Lawyers tired of the traditional office grind, seeking greater autonomy, freedom, and purpose in their practice.
- Lawyers who want to build their practice on the side, without risking their 9-5 job.
- Lawyers who want to start their own firm but avoid the hassle of managing business activities.
- Self-employed lawyers paying too much for overhead costs, office space, and administrative fees.
- Lawyers who want the flexibility to travel while working.
- Lawyers who wish to take paternity or maternity leave, or those wanting to stay home and spend more time with their family.
In addition to this, we also welcome lawyers interested in investing in our firm to secure an ownership stake and join us as partners in reshaping the future of law.
About the Role:
This is a subscription-based virtual role for lawyers at V-LAW. Lawyers will pay a monthly subscription fee of $1,200 to access our virtual law office's comprehensive services, including software, administration, bookkeeping, accounting, community support, and mentorship for starting a solo practice. Alternatively, they will pay 12% of their total revenue, whichever is greater. 3% of total revenue will be allocated to joint marketing, and 15% will go towards firm overhead.
This allows lawyers to build their solo practice with extensive support while retaining the mentorship and camaraderie of a team. Additionally, they don’t have to deal with business administration, incorporation, trust accounting, or other operational burdens.
In this role, lawyers will work through our virtual law firm to provide legal advice, draft documents, represent clients in court, conduct legal research, and negotiate settlements. They will collaborate with clients and colleagues virtually, enjoying the flexibility and autonomy of a modern legal practice.
We are looking for lawyers with experience in preferred fields such as corporate law, litigation, real estate, contracts, intellectual property, and entertainment.
As part of our team, we also invite ambitious lawyer partners to join us in our innovative firm and help shape the future of legal practice together
