Location: 100% Remote (Anywhere in Canada)
Salary: $160,000 - $180,000 base

Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer to join our client's dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have 5-7 years of experience in data engineering, working with very large data sets, and a strong background in AWS, Python, and SQL. This role is crucial for designing, implementing, and optimizing data infrastructure and pipelines to support our client's innovative financial tools.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and optimize complex Python and SQL queries.
- Build and maintain ETL processes and data pipelines.
- Build infrastructure and custom pipelines from scratch
- Develop and manage data models and databases, including MySQL and PostgreSQL.
- Utilize AWS data infrastructure tools such as Redshift, QuickSight, and Glue.
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and reliability across large data sets.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define data requirements and deliver insights.
- Implement best practices for data security and governance.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in data engineering (ETL, data warehousing)
- Proven expertise in working with very large data sets.
- Strong proficiency in Python and SQL.
- Hands-on experience designing and building AWS data infrastructure ground up (Redshift, QuickSight, Glue).
- Solid understanding of data modeling, ETL processes, and data pipeline development.
- Experience with MySQL and PostgreSQL databases.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Familiarity with Mixpanel.
- Experience with no-code/low-code self-serve analytical tools
- Familiarity with Azure data infra
