Job Purpose
  1. Support a varied client portfolio, working closely with the senior management team to ensure expectations and deadlines are met
  2. Preparation of statutory accounts for Limited companies and Sole Traders
  3. Preparation of accounts from core records, using FRS 105 and/or FRS 102
  4. Review of accounts prepared by junior team members
  5. Preparation and submission of VAT returns
  6. Filing accounts and ensuring accurate accounts are produced and submitted to Companies House on time
  7. Liaise with clients, building trusted relationships and proactively handling queries
  8. Lead fieldwork at clients’ premises when required
  9. Support junior staff, including reviewing work and supporting their professional development
  10. Identify new processes and ways to increase efficiency
  11. Research and interpret changes to taxation and accounting regulations
  12. Champion your own professional development, regularly undertaking training opportunities

Job Requirements
  1. AAT or ACCA/ACA qualified with a minimum of five years’ experience in UK practice
  2. A proven track record of managing a client portfolio, including monitoring commercial aspects
  3. Strong working knowledge of software, such as Xero, QuickBooks, and Sage
  4. Good IT skills
  5. A team player who can also work autonomously
  6. A can-do attitude to problem-solving
