We are seeking a highly flexible and organized individual to join our Finance team in a temporary full-time capacity at our Victoria Office. This position is for maternity leave coverage, anticipated to last between 12 and 18 months. There may also be an opportunity for a permanent role following this period, depending on business needs and performance. This role requires working onsite Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

What you will be accountable for

  • Manage the payable function, including credit card reconciliations.
  • Recording receipts and payments in accounting system.
  • Preparing remittances.
  • Reconciling ledger balances.
  • Preparing ad hoc reports from accounting system.
  • Drafting invoices for manager review.
  • Collections Calls.
  • Organizing and managing finance files and documents.
  • Maintaining customer and supplier contact lists.
  • Responding to supplier and customer queries.
  • Collaborating with other departments regarding procedures and policies.
  • Other finance department tasks as assigned.

Duties associated with this position may vary to meet evolving demands within the company.

Skills and Abilities

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Experience with accounting software and time and attendance software.
  • Offers quality services with a focus on accuracy.
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office, including Word and Excel.
  • Growth mindset with an interest in process improvement and automation.
  • Ability to organize time to meet reporting deadlines.
  • Excellent communicator and able to assist staff with resolving issues.

Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to): Frequent standing and walking, occasional bending, kneeling, carrying, and lifting.

Visa Requirements: Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. Currently, we do not assist in securing Canadian work authorization or visa sponsorship.
