Job Description

We are recruiting for a detail-oriented and driven Analyst/Senior Analyst to join the Business Management group in the Credit Investments (CI) department in Toronto. The CI department is responsible for all of CPP Investments' public and private credit investments globally. The CI Business Management group leads business management activities that support the operations of CI in an efficient and effective manner.

The Analyst/Senior Analyst will contribute to key deliverables and initiatives related to capital budgeting, portfolio analytics, and supporting the maintenance of internal systems and investment data. This role involves working collaboratively with CI investment and strategy teams, the Total Fund Management team, and other enabling teams across CPP Investments.

Role-Specific Accountabilities:
  1. Own CI's Capital Ledger process, which is critical in supporting the Fund's capital management. This involves working collaboratively with CI investment teams, Total Fund Management, and other enabling functions.
  2. Support the analysis and reporting of deployment and disposition activity including attribution across groups/strategies within CI.
  3. Develop a full understanding of all data integral to CI's investment process, including upstream sources and downstream uses.
  4. Responsible for the ongoing collection and review of critical data elements relevant to portfolio management.
  5. Assist with portfolio analysis and management reporting, including the quarterly portfolio monitoring process.
  6. Proactively carry out process improvements that support investment decision-making and portfolio management.
  7. Perform ad-hoc analysis to support business management and contribute to other department and enterprise projects as assigned.
Qualifications
  1. Up to 3 years of finance and/or investment-related experience; knowledge of the credit asset class is a definite asset.
  2. Undergraduate or graduate degree in Finance, Accounting, or related discipline.
  3. Knowledge of Python, VBA, and SQL is an asset.
  4. Highly organized, and strong sense of ownership.
  5. Proven attention to detail and the ability to produce high-quality work under time-sensitive deadlines.
  6. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  7. Self-motivated with the ability to think critically and creatively.
  8. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  9. Ability to quickly grasp new concepts and work in a high-performing culture.
