We are a custom steel fabricator and erector with over 13 years of experience in the field. Our team of experienced welders are equipped with the skills and expertise necessary to tackle a wide range of welding projects, from intricate fabrications to large-scale installations.

The Project Manager is responsible for directing multiple projects at the same time, serving as the main contact for Burkebro customers and coordinating with all internal departments.

As a new member, you will become part of a diverse and dynamic group of highly motivated individuals, each bringing a unique set of talents, skills, and backgrounds.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
  • Oversee the accurate execution of Burkebro’s sales contracts, including defining project scope, managing change orders, adhering to project timelines, and ensuring we are up-to-date with client’s invoice payments—all while maintaining project profitability.
  • Collaborate with internal departments as part of a skills-based team to ensure customer requirements are met promptly, thereby reducing project risks.
  • Work closely with Burkebro’s customers maintaining clear communication regarding delivery timelines and managing customer expectations throughout the order fulfilment and installation process.
  • Manage multiple projects from order inception through to project completion (including post-delivery customer service) by tracking milestones, encouraging teamwork, and proactively communicating with other team members.
  • Facilitate the definition of project scope, goals, and deliverables by reviewing project details for accuracy, completeness, practicality, and impact (including specific reviews of contracts, approval drawings, and change orders).
  • Implement and oversee project change orders and interventions to ensure project milestones are met and desired outcomes are achieved.
  • Ensure all departments and customers receive reliable, accurate, and complete information in a timely manner.
  • Resolve inquiries and issues promptly to the satisfaction of all parties involved.
  • Serve as both liaison and manager between internal departments and the customer.
  • Provide input to assist the team in prioritizing final delivery and internal work schedules.
  • Identify potential roadblocks and mitigate risks in advance to enable all departments to take preventative actions.
  • Guide the team in creating and executing plans for preventative actions as needed.
  • Address and manage customer concerns and charges in a timely manner.
  • Ensure the customer’s project requirements are met on time with the best outcome for Burkebro by thoroughly understanding the project and project schedule.
  • Lead the team in creating and executing plans to mitigate project risks by prioritizing projects and collaborating with all Burkebro departments.
  • Manage all customer concerns, problems, changes, back charges, and additional costs effectively.
  • Build customer loyalty and be a liaison between the customer and our company.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in the steel or construction industry.
  • At least 3 years of Project Management experience.
  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Excellent skills in managing internal and external customer relationships.
  • Basic drafting skills, including proficiency in AutoCAD or other drafting software.
  • Strong time management and organizational abilities.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written are essential.
  • Comprehensive understanding of steel construction and installation processes, as well as construction management (site work, tendering, contracts, specifications, etc.).
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, including tolerances, capabilities, and Quality Management.
  • Familiarity with steel fabrication methods and details.
  • Basic finance skills, including an understanding of revenue, expenses, income, margins, and budgets.
  • Ability to empower, influence, and work effectively within a diverse team.
  • Proficiency in prioritizing workloads and minimizing risk through effective time management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
