Purpose:

The Finance Analyst position is a key role within the Canada Finance Organization, directly collaborating with colleagues across both finance and the broader organization to drive key transformation initiatives. Reporting to the Manager FP&A, the Finance Analyst will play a crucial role in budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, data analytics and reporting to support strategic decision making.

What you’ll do:

  • Support accurate and timely preparation of annual business plan and periodic forecasts for the business and through to management presentations.
  • Develop insightful commentary on performance and executive level presentation of data, drawing conclusion and support providing outlook.
  • Provide systems expertise and training to business partners increasing understanding of the content, source, and flow of information.
  • Maintain and enhance financial models and databases to support accurate and timely financial analysis. Ensure data integrity and accuracy.
  • Analyze financial data and trends to provide actionable insights.
  • Prepare detailed financial reports, variance analyses, and performance metrics to aid in decision-making processes.
  • Prepare and distribute monthly financial reporting packages to management, highlighting key insights and actionable recommendations.
  • Prepare the sales scorecards and incentive plans which are utilized by management to drive and motivate frontline sales staff towards appropriate goals.
  • Create dynamic, user-friendly dashboards and reports in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) to visualize key business metrics and support data-driven decision-making.
  • Continuously seek to improve financial planning and reporting processes, driving efficiencies, and enhancing the quality of financial information.
  • Partner with business unit leaders to develop and execute financial strategies that align with organizational goals.
  • Support the evaluation of business investment opportunities.
  • Participate in finance and cross functional projects.

What it takes:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or Computer Science.
  • Master’s degree / MBA, Finance or similar will be considered an asset.

Key Skills and Attributes:

  • 2-5 years’ experience in a finance environment.
  • Financial planning and Analysis background.
  • Strong analytical skills bringing insights to numbers and trends.
  • In-depth knowledge of ERP systems and business information systems (SAP ERP/SAP Business Warehouse).
  • Knowledge and experience using SAP analytics Cloud (SAC).
  • Working knowledge of SQL.
  • Experience developing and implementing enterprise-scale reports and dashboards.
  • Strong analytical skills bringing insights to numbers and trends.
  • Great communication and presentation skills.
  • Attention to detail and high aptitude for problem-solving.
  • Formal training and knowledge of coding languages would be considered a significant asset.
