Summary/Objective

The position of General Labour – Cooler is responsible for all aspects of cooler functions including the sorting, receiving, storing, handling and preparing products for the production line while maintaining the warehouse in a safe and orderly fashion.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Promptly and accurately assemble and load products onto pallets in the fridge/freezer facility; and prepare pallets for production lines in accordance with the daily production plan.
  2. Respond to ad hoc production line product needs in a timely manner.
  3. Maintain quality of service by adhering to established organizational standards.
  4. Assist in counting of physical inventory and verifying stock quantities.
  5. Perform equipment checks to ensure all equipment is functioning properly and notify supervisor of any required repairs or maintenance.
  6. Maintain a safe and clean work environment and comply with established policies and procedures.
  7. Keep open lines of communication with departments such as production, planning, logistics and purchasing to guarantee production requirements are met.
  8. Additional duties may be assigned to meet Company requirements.

Qualifications

  1. Valid forklift license would be an asset.
  2. Very organized and can multi-task.
  3. High flexibility to work on weekends, overtime and changing schedules is required.
  4. Very strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills, able to identify issues, propose viable solutions, and implement appropriate changes.
  5. High attention to detail.
  6. High energy team player, with a positive can-do attitude, flexible and adaptable to change.
  7. Able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Work Environment

Warehouse environment with exposure to:

  1. Cold environment of a cooler with temperature between 0 degrees Celsius to 5 degrees Celsius;
  2. Fluctuating heat and cold due to open doors;
  3. Some noise associated with forklift traffic;

Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 44 per week
