Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm
Reporting to: Health & Wellness Manager
Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide families with expert guidance, education, and unwavering support through both in-person and virtual interactions.
- Empower parents with the tools and knowledge to foster their child's development within the home and community contexts.
- Design and offer well-considered strategies and recommendations for the successful implementation of child-focused programs tailored to the unique needs of each family and community setting.
- Administer thorough screenings using a blend of formal and informal assessment methods to evaluate the developmental progress of school-aged children.
- Analyze assessment results to gain deep insights into each child's specific developmental needs, allowing for informed and effective intervention planning.
- Develop multidisciplinary goals and comprehensive plans that not only prioritize child development but also empower parents through educational initiatives.
- Devise innovative strategies that actively engage parents in their child's progress, fostering a collaborative approach to development.
- Monitor the effectiveness of program plans and make timely adjustments as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes for each child.
- Actively participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, contributing valuable insights and collaborating on fine-tuning strategies to enhance child development.
- Foster strong collaboration with families and interdisciplinary team members, working collectively to achieve targeted developmental objectives.
- Ensure meticulous documentation of intake and files using our electronic medical record system, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
- Advocate for clients as needed to facilitate access to vital resources within and outside the organization, ensuring comprehensive support.
- Collaborate with internal and external resources, maintaining existing partnerships and contributing to the development of new ones to enhance support networks.
- Contribute to the creation of pediatric occupational therapy program frameworks, fostering consistency and excellence across Mustard Seed Wellness Centres in Alberta.
- Provide valuable support to team members and assist with the day-to-day operations of our Community Impact Centres.
- Offer valuable insights and input into program evaluation efforts as requested, contributing to the ongoing enhancement of our services.
Minimum Qualifications and Skills
- Master’s degree in occupational therapy
- Preference for candidates with 1 year of experience; however, new graduates are welcome to apply.
- Registered with the Alberta College of Occupational Therapists.
- Proficiency in using various functional assessment tools.
- Knowledge of MS Word.
