The ideal candidate has previously built and managed a team of ICI mortgage loan underwriters who aggressively develop new ICI mortgage financing applications that were either rejected by institutional lenders for minor non-conforming credit reasons, or the ICI mortgage loan financing being requested is not available from institutional lenders.


Once pre-determined new commercial mortgage loan deal inflow levels have been achieved, your next challenge is to build and lead an innovative ICI Real Estate Finance team and take Phoenix’s market visibility to the next level. You will build and support a team of ICI Real Estate financing specialists in new deal development, origination and placement.

Phoenix will re-assesses ICI mortgage applications which have been rejected by financial institutions, or the applicant’s financing request is not available from financial institutions, then re-positions and underwrites them for remarketing into the alternative, secondary, specialized, and private ICI mortgage loan funding markets.


Phoenix is not a licensed mortgage agent, mortgage broker, or mortgage loan administrator. Phoenix receives ICI mortgage loan applications from licensed commercial mortgage brokers and licensed commercial real estate brokers across Canada.


Candidate Profile

We are seeking an experienced team leader and dynamic new business developer with access to an established network of professional referral sources and is ready to move up in the ICI commercial mortgage financing industry. You have held executive positions with non-institutional ICI mortgage lenders. You have the industry credentials to structure and co-ordinate the funding of new ICI real estate financing opportunities directly to non-institutional funding sources or through syndication.

Position Profile

As the Senior Advisor, ICI Real Estate Finance, you are responsible for developing new ICI mortgage loan financing referrals, originating, underwriting, and funding these financing requests on behalf of our client companies.


You will work directly with the Capital Markets Team in preparing and co-ordinating funding efforts with non-institutional lenders through professionally prepared underwriting submissions from our Underwriting Team for funder presentations


Your role moving forward is to build a team of dynamic transaction-oriented Associate Advisors for the Toronto Head Office and for our regional and provincial offices. Once you have created an internal business plan to maximize results for your team in developing, originating, and funding corporate debt financings, your next objective is to build a team of corporate finance specialists who can originate and negotiate funding from secondary and alternative sources of capital on behalf of our client companies


You have built or managed mortgage financing business development teams before and know which potential candidates will meet performance expectations. To enhance their success, you will provide strong business financing acumen, risk assessment expertise, and lead by example with honed time management skills.You will provide field support to your Associate Advisors, ICI Real Estate Finance who will submit Field Financing Assessments on potential financing requests to the Capital Markets Team.

Qualifications

Qualified candidates will possess the following qualifications;
