About the Opportunity
Reporting to the Executive Director Health Services, Western Zone, the Director collaborates with department heads and Site Medical Leads to ensure strategic and operational planning, management, and leadership of assigned programs/services. This role supports an integrated approach to emergency care services across the zone, contributes to the development of operational plans, and oversees their execution to enhance care delivery and health outcomes.
The Director ensures continuous improvement to advance a vision of academic excellence within care provision and is responsible for quality management and safety programs, compliance with standards, and accreditation requirements. This position champions a learning and research environment aligned with the future state of Nova Scotia Health.
About You
We would love to hear from you if you have the following:
- Master’s Degree in a health-related discipline, health administration, business administration, or related subject. Equivalent experience and education may be considered.
- Registration with relevant health or professional discipline/college or association.
- Certified Health Executive designation (an asset).
- Five (5) to seven (7) years of relevant leadership/management experience with accountabilities for financial, strategic, and people management.
- Excellent leadership, relationship building, organizational, and decision-making skills.
- Expert knowledge to critically analyze evidence-based practices to inform strategy development and organizational planning.
- Demonstrated skill in strategic planning and systems thinking.
- Ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships with stakeholders.
- Expertise in financial planning.
- Evidence-based collaborative problem-solving skills for complex issues.
- Competencies in other languages (an asset, French preferred).
- Demonstrated cultural competence.

Hours: Permanent Full Time
Compensation and Benefits: $56.95 - $75.67 Hourly. Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package, including health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
