Job Title: Senior Communications Manager

Department: Communications/Social Media/Marketing

Reports To: CEO and Visual Designer

Location: Onsite in Burnaby, Canada


Job Summary:

The Senior Communications Manager will be responsible for overseeing and executing internal and external communication strategies to ensure consistent messaging across all platforms. This individual will create, manage, and distribute content that supports the organization’s goals, fosters engagement, and strengthens relationships with internal teams, stakeholders, and external partners. Manage company wide and subsidiary social media handles. Manage user engagement and experience.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and oversee communication strategies for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Draft and distribute communications materials including press releases, newsletters, reports, blog posts, and social media content.
  • Draft and distribute technology updates/feature releases to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure brand consistency across all communication channels.
  • Collaborate with different departments to manage and streamline internal communications, ensuring employees are well-informed and engaged.
  • Act as the point of contact for media inquiries and prepare key executives for media interactions.
  • Manage relationships with external vendors such as PR agencies, copywriters, and designers.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of communication strategies through analytics and feedback.
  • Stay up-to-date with communication trends, tools, and best practices to continuously improve strategies.
  • Assist in the creation of content for speeches, presentations, and other executive communication needs.


Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in communications, public relations, or a similar role.
  • Proven experience creating content for a variety of audiences, both internal and external.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex ideas for diverse audiences.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in communication tools and platforms (e.g., Microsoft Office, social media platforms, content management systems).
  • Experience working with media and managing public relations.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships across departments.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in corporate communications within the healthcare and technology industry
  • Knowledge of crisis communication strategies.
  • Familiarity with graphic design and multimedia content creation tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite).
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
