POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The property accountant will be called upon to work in a dynamic and bustling team. The incumbent of the position will be responsible for monthly accounting, monitoring the operational budget and the capital budget, establishing forecasts and the annual budget as well as preparing annual audit files for real estate assets that will be assigned to you.

Office(s): Laval or Brossard, depending on place of residence


ROLE AND GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Analyze management and financial reports monthly and compare them with approved budgets
  • Carry out the various monthly and year-end reconciliations
  • Compile and analyze financial information provided by property managers and partners
  • Coordinate the receipt on a monthly basis of all financial data provided by property managers and partners and validate the content
  • Ensure execution of internal controls put in place
  • Establish and maintain good business relationships with various property managers and partners.
  • Make the necessary adjustment entries monthly
  • Participate in special projects assigned to him/her
  • Participate in the execution of audit files as part of the annual audit
  • Participate in the preparation of forecasts and the operating budget as well as the development of the capital budget
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
  • University degree in accounting an asset or administration technician with relevant experience
  • Relevant experience of 1 to 3 years
  • Good command of MS Office software, particularly Excel
  • Knowledge of HOPEM, YARDI tools and SOX regulations (an asset)
