SUMMARY OF ROLE:
One of our clients that has been at the forefront of the insurance industry for decades, recognized globally for its ability to offer customized, flexible, and reliable solutions is expanding its team and looking for Data Engineers. They serve a diverse range of clients, from individuals to large corporations, ensuring the highest level of care and protection. With a deep commitment to customer satisfaction and a forward-thinking approach to risk management our client continues to lead the market by prioritizing customer needs and adapting to the ever-changing world.
Shift: 9 to 5 (Tentatively), Monday-Friday
Location: Hybrid, Markham, ON
Role: Contract With a Potential To Extend
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and maintain data pipelines to extract, transform, and load information from various sources into internal systems.
- Write and optimize complex queries and procedures using structured query languages.
- Monitor daily and periodic processes, resolving any issues that may arise.
- Work closely with internal teams to understand data needs and ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Create detailed reports using data visualization tools.
- Conduct data analysis to identify and resolve any inconsistencies or issues.
- Implement processes to ensure data quality and validation throughout the workflow.
- Build solutions by developing advanced calculations through procedures or data transformation processes.
- Continuously monitor and improve the efficiency of data workflows and systems.
- Keep thorough documentation of technical specifications and processes.
- Stay updated with the latest developments and best practices in data management and transformation.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Broad expertise in the insurance sector, with a focus on understanding and managing technical data related to underwriting and policy workflows.
- Demonstrated experience supporting and optimizing finance platforms across various domains.
- Familiarity with finance-related applications for managing essential modules like accounts, payments, and asset tracking.
- Skilled in data management and transformation, with a strong foundation in integration processes and tools used in the industry.
- Extensive experience working with relational databases and optimizing database performance.
- Strong background in working with core insurance systems, specializing in policy, billing, and claims functions.
- Experience with automation platforms for process control and operational efficiency.
- Proficient in designing and generating reports using advanced data tools and programming languages.
- Knowledgeable in cloud-based data warehousing and processing technologies.
- Solid foundation in financial accounting concepts, including performance reporting and financial health assessments.
- Expertise in database architecture and integration tools, with a focus on scalability and performance.
- In-depth knowledge of data warehousing and best practices in managing large datasets.
- Highly skilled in problem-solving with a sharp attention to detail.
- Experience working in agile development environments, using project management tools to ensure task tracking and collaboration.
- Strong interpersonal skills, comfortable working autonomously or within team settings.
