Responsibilities:

  • Monitor, interpret, and ensure compliance with all applicable energy regulations, including environmental, safety, and operational standards.
  • Stay abreast of regulatory developments, assess their impact on the organization, and provide timely analysis and recommendations to senior management.
  • Develop and implement strategies to achieve compliance objectives while minimizing risks and maximizing operational efficiency.
  • Represent the organization's interests in regulatory proceedings, engage with regulatory agencies, and participate in industry forums to advocate for favorable regulatory outcomes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including legal, operations, and finance to integrate regulatory requirements into business processes and decision-making.
  • Build and maintain relationships with regulatory agencies, industry associations, and other external stakeholders to influence regulatory policy and promote the organization's interests.
  • Establish systems and processes to monitor compliance with regulatory requirements, conduct internal audits, and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Develop training programs and materials to ensure that employees understand their regulatory obligations and responsibilities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, environmental science, business administration, or related field. Advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience in regulatory compliance, preferably in the energy sector.
  • In-depth knowledge of energy regulations, industry standards, and best practices.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex regulatory requirements and assess their impact on business operations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement compliance strategies that align with business objectives.
  • Experience in regulatory advocacy and engagement with regulatory agencies is highly desirable.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
