As Manager Software Engineer, Dungeons & Dragons(R) (D&D) Infrastructure you will lead a team of engineers to maintain and enhance the DevOps, security, and infrastructure platform for Wizards of the Coast’s (WotC) D&D digital site, D&D Beyond. This role will be fully remote and located in Canada.

What You'll Do:
  1. Lead the team of engineers designing, building, and maintaining the cloud-based infrastructure that supports D&D Beyond, including server, container, network, database, observability, security, and storage management systems.
  2. Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and manage performance of a team of engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth.
  3. Collaborate closely with software engineering teams to define requirements, develop roadmaps, and continuously improve the developer experience of the D&D Beyond cloud-based infrastructure platform and services.
  4. Advise on architecting and implementing scalable and efficient solutions, ensuring efficiency, reliability, and maintainability.
  5. Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in DevOps, security, and cloud-based infrastructure development and provide recommendations on standard processes and tools.
What You'll Bring:
  1. 4+ years demonstrated ability managing teams of 5 or more engineers.
  2. 2+ years prior experience as a DevOps, TechOps or System Reliability engineer supporting development in the cloud (e.g., AWS, Azure).
  3. Experience designing, building, and maintaining cloud-based infrastructure that supports software applications, including server, container, network, database, observability, security, and storage management systems.
  4. Experience with containerized workload management technologies (e.g., Kubernetes, AWS ECS, EKS).
  5. Consistent track record building and managing infrastructure in AWS.
  6. Experience with some form of Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation, CDK).
  7. Solid understanding of web app performance optimization, security, and usability principles.
  8. Experience driving operational excellence processes and using observability tools for monitoring, logging, and tracing.
  9. Experience working in agile methodologies (e.g. Scrum).
  10. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical partners.
  11. Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire team members.
Nice to Have:
  1. Experience using Kubernetes and Terraform.
  2. Experience working with both relational (e.g., SQL Server, MySQL, Postgres) and non-relational databases (e.g., DynamoDB, MongoDB).
  3. Intermediate or greater knowledge of Python.
  4. Knowledge of Git.
  5. Understanding of monitoring tools (e.g., CloudWatch, Datadog, Sumologic).
  6. Experience with Linux.
  7. A passion for Dungeons & Dragons (D&D).
