Who We Are

EHS Support is a specialty environmental consulting firm that provides solutions to complex environmental, health, and safety challenges across a range of market sectors and industries. With experts located throughout the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, and South Africa, we form long-lasting partnerships with our clients through a culture of excellence, innovation, work ethic, and integrity. We focus on hiring and retaining talented, motivated people who enjoy collaborating with and delivering value to our clients. Our team does more than identify problems— we provide solutions.

The Role

This opportunity is for a flexible, self-motivated, and independent individual. The successful team member will provide technical support in the remediation and sediment/risk assessment service lines on a variety of environmental investigation, remediation, and water resources projects located throughout the United States and, potentially, internationally. Typical responsibilities include a blend of field and office activities that include data collection (such as environmental investigation fieldwork planning and sample collection, monitoring well installation, aquifer testing, etc.) and assessing laboratory and field-derived datasets to derive conclusions and provide recommendations to project teams, clients, and regulators. Key to success will be communicating results succinctly through written reports, charts, and technical or schematic illustrations. The team member will be encouraged to develop innovative data querying and visualization methods. Responsibilities of this position will also typically include remediation implementation support (e.g., groundwater system installation support, soil excavation, in-situ soil and/or groundwater treatments, etc.); and project management support, including proposal development, cost estimating, and subcontractor management.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities
  • Data analysis - assess environmental datasets to derive observations and conclusions.
  • Technical writing and reporting – effectively write and verbally communicate key findings and strategies.
  • Technical growth - expand skills by working on multiple projects with technical experts from a variety of disciplines.
  • Coordination and Planning - schedule fieldwork; identify equipment & safety needs, required permits, and subcontractors.
  • Fieldwork - collect environmental samples from various media (soil, groundwater, sediment, surface water, soil vapor) and manage subcontractors.
Qualifications/Education
  • Bachelor’s level degree in a field related to geology, hydrogeology, or environmental science with 5 or more years of applicable work experience or master’s level credentials in one of the aforementioned fields with 2 or more years of applicable work experience.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills. Writing examples and/or completion of a test exercise may be requested.
  • Strong communication skills and a willingness to proactively reach out to peers with questions and to seek guidance.
  • Comfortable working in remote office setting.
  • Environmental and geospatial data assessment skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines while managing simultaneous tasks.
  • Environmental media sampling experience (soil, sediment, surface water, groundwater, soil vapor, etc.).
  • Interest to travel out of state and overnight, with the potential for longer work assignments (days to weeks).
Highly Qualified Candidates
  • Hydrogeology and/or aqueous geochemistry coursework or experience.
  • Familiarity with groundwater and or geochemical modeling software (e.g., BioScreen, MAROS, Geochemists’ Workbench, or similar).
  • Data plotting and querying skills (R and/or Microsoft Excel).
  • Basic working knowledge of geospatial software (ArcGIS and/or QGIS).
  • Familiarity with geostatistical analysis.
  • Subcontractor coordination and management experience.
Our Values
  • Flexibility and ability to manage multiple deadlines and fast-changing priorities.
  • Display integrity through honesty, fairness, & respect.
  • Possesses a sense of responsibility and takes accountability.
  • Takes initiative.
  • Maintains a sense of ownership over delivery of projects.
  • Trustworthy and dependable.
  • Good listener and fosters teamwork.
